This is quite an emotional subject (as far as goldfish go). On the face of it, Bob's young owner is concerned that Bob might not have enough to do while they are apart. Of course, the truth of the matter is that you always miss those you leave behind, even if it's only for a week. And will Bob miss his best friend?

Bob's guitar is closely based on my son Thomas's one-of-a-kind customised Telecaster, and in the printed version, I have added an extra note of thanks below the usual dedication. The scene on the postcard is borrowed from "The Owl and the Pussy-Cat", and was inspired by the beach in Swanage, where we go every summer.
